Engineering Manager to lead key engineering and business
initiatives that will shape our long-term Cloud objectives. In this
role, you will collaborate closely with product managers and
cross-functional teams to execute both strategic and tactical
roadmaps. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical
background, cloud experience, exceptional project management
skills, outstanding communication abilities, and a passion for
thriving in a dynamic environment.WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Team Leadership: Build and manage 2-3 teams of cloud engineers,
fostering career growth and cultivating a strong team culture. Lead
and mentor engineers at various experience levels.
- Engineering Excellence: Set high engineering standards and
promote operational excellence. Guide the team in delivering
incremental value to customers through effective agile development
practices.
- Cost Optimization: Drive a cost-conscious mindset across the
organization by identifying and eliminating waste in cloud
spending. Establish best practices and processes to optimize cloud
resource utilization, ensuring that every dollar spent contributes
to business value.
- Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate effective
communication within your team, with peers, senior leaders, and
stakeholders. Collaborate with other teams to tackle complex
challenges, refine designs, estimate engineering efforts, and
create work-back schedules.
- Strategic Enablement: Empower your team to overcome obstacles
and achieve their goals, acting as a catalyst for their success.WHO
YOU ARE
- Cross-Functional Leader: At least 3 years of experience working
in organizations where you have successfully collaborated with
multiple teams to negotiate priorities and align work with
organizational values.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 3 years managing engineering
teams, with a proven track record of leading, mentoring, and
developing engineers.
- Engineering Expertise: Over 7 years of experience in
engineering roles, including at least 3 years designing or
architecting reliable and scalable Cloud systems using Azure or
AWS.
- Comprehensive Engineering Knowledge: Deep understanding of
engineering practices and patterns across the full
software/hardware/network development lifecycle, including coding
standards, code reviews, source control management, build
processes, testing, and operations.
- Product Development Leadership: Experience leading product
development in collaboration with product or program management
teams.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- AWS, Azure certifications such as AWS/ Azure Solutions
Architect.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices and experience
implementing security measures in a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management
tools.PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding
employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus.
Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is
determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience,
internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used
to award performance and therefore is determined by company,
business, team, and individual performance. Salary Range:
