Job Description:
Job Summary:Facilities Maintenance is responsible for managing
the custodial and maintenance daily business of the parish. This is
a full-time position that reports to the Facilities Director with
three direct reports to supervise. Ministerial CharacterThe Pastor
is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the parish of
St Thomas More Catholic Church which the Bishop has entrusted to
him. He makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the parish.
In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable,
chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares
with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to
them.Positions employed at St Thomas More Catholic Church help to
extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in
the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is
closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of
his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the
Church.Essential Job Duties: As an integral part of your ministry
for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold
the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of St Thomas
More Catholic Church in both your professional and personal
life.Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of
the Catholic Church.Continuously grow in your ministry by
participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and
reflection activities as directed.Reviewing the weekly schedule and
making daily assignments for the crewReviewing emails for
maintenance requests from the staff and parishioners.Reviewing
emails to inform the crew of any staff informationPerforming
maintenance on the parish grounds as neededPerforming monthly
preventative maintenance on the parishMaintaining an inventory of
all custodial suppliesIssuing supplies across the parish as
neededDetermining the best products to be used and how they are
usedOverseeing the equipment used by the crew and making repairs as
neededOverseeing all audio and video equipment on the parish and
making repairs as needed, excluding the churchAssisting ministries
and groups with audio and video aidInterfacing with contractors for
outsourced jobs such as HVAC, plumbing, etc.Assisting in creating
safety measures made for the parishMaintaining Fire Code compliance
and making repairs as neededProgramming doors for groups and
ministries to have access to the buildings for the parishViewing
security video footage when requested by the Facilities
DirectorOther duties as assigned RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and
Abilities:Three years of supervisory experience required.Ability to
work effectively in a team environment in co-operation with the
parish staffAbility to respond to occasional off-hours emergency
callsAbility to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and crawl in tight
quartersSet up and tear down tables, chairs and other equipment for
scheduled eventsDemonstrate competency with hand toolsAbility to
design and maintain maintenance procedures, preventive maintenance
programs and record keeping systemsBasic knowledge of carpentry,
plumbing, irrigation, electrical, landscaping, lighting, A/C
systems and flooringMinimum Qualifications:Education and Trainings:
High school diploma or GED.Catholic Requirement: Must be a
practicing Catholic in good standing.Licenses/Certifications: Must
maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity
in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
Compensation details: 24-24 Hourly
